Cate Cohen is an award-winning writer and director by way of acting, with dozens of credits in TV and film, as well as over 50 commercials (both on-camera and voiceover).

Cate most recently directed, wrote, and starred in the darkly comedic short, Scrubbed (Alexandria Films). Other recent directing credits include So What’s For Dinner and A Covid Birthday Message (BGB Productions). 

Cate’s directing is a natural outgrowth of her years as an on-camera acting coach. She’s taught at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and TV’s Professional Program and is currently a Master Teacher at the renowned BGB Studios. She is especially known for drawing emotionally rich, nuanced performances from actors of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Equally adept at both drama and comedy, Cate’s extensive acting credits include recurring roles on Truth Be Told (apple +), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Silicon Valley, Lucifer, and Jane the Virgin.

Cate also spent several years dancing with the Radio City Rockettes. Her experience in the world’s most famous chorus line is the basis for her critically acclaimed one-woman show, Out of Line, which was subsequently developed into a ½ hour comedy pilot at ABC.

Cate lives in L.A. with her husband, two children, and her two dogs, Sadie and Leo.
